Mojca Belingar Vodopivec Works as a dancer, choreographer and
teacher of oriental dance, which she first encountered eight
years ago at the Urška dance school. Dance enchanted her so much
that she enhanced her knowledge under acknowledged Slovene and
foreign teachers. Among other qualifications, in 2008 she
successfully completed a two-year course to become an oriental
dance teacher under Barbara Kazerouni – Bahari, and is currently
finishing a course to become a professional dance instructress. |

Milena Čelhar - Maisa Lives in the
Karst region of Slovenia and began to be involved with oriental dance five years ago. In 2007
finished training to become an oriental dance instructress under Leila Pavšič El Rabadi in
Graz. Has been teaching since then and attended numerous workshops run by acknowledged Slovene
and foreign dancers and choreographers in Slovenia and abroad – in short, dance has become
her lifestyle. |

Vesna Jevšenak Her dance
career began with ballet and continued with jazz, modern dance techniques and expressive
dance forms. Learnt oriental dance, in which she has been strongly involved for 13 years,
under Jasna Knez. Underwent training and qualified as a professional dancer and dance
instructress under the mentors Gamal Seif, Khaled Saif and Aladin Kholy as well as
Prof. Dr. Hassan Khalil. Has been performing Bharat Natyam Indian classical dance for
11 years, her tutor being Ujwal Bhole. Also dances flamenco and salsa for pleasure.
Co-founder and president of the dance association Salam Ghazeea, where she teaches too.
Currently the director of two dance troupes (PS Salam Ghazeea and Nataraj), runs
courses and workshops, and stages productions and professional shows. |

Nataša Kočar Dancer, instructress
(qualified to teach oriental dance), choreographer and one of the founding members of the KUOD Bayani
dance club. Has been dancing since primary school and involved in oriental dance for 9 years,
during which she has co-produced five oriental dance shows (Kasbah 2005, Ahlan wa Sahlan 2006,
Jalla Jalla 2006, Zaghareet 2007 and Hayeti 2009) and one Indian dance spectacle – Kundalini (2010).
Her career includes several years of collaboration with the Indian dance troupe Nataraj (2005-2008)
and she has performed in a duet with Sylvia Valentine in Orient Under Construction (2009) – a dance
show directed by Manca Pavli. From 2005 on, has been appearing at the KUOD Bayani Arab Cuisine Evenings
organized by the Arabic Club of Slovenia. Nataša has been teaching dance regularly for 5 years within
the KUOD Bayani Association in Kamnik and Lukovica, and has performed as a guest tutor in other regions
throughout Slovenia and neighbouring Croatia. Apart from classical oriental dance, she is also inspired
by Indian Bollywood. |

Nataša Laura Enrolled on her
first oriental dance course 7 years ago. Since then has regularly enhanced her knowledge under
the mentorship of Slovene and foreign teachers (Vesna Jevšenak, Prof. Dr. Hassan Khalil, Mohamed
Khazafy, Magdy El Leisy, Saida, Elizabeth Strong and Astryd Farah de Michele). Furthermore, has
undergone a two-year course to become an oriental dance teacher under Barbara Kazerouni – Bahara.
Has been sharing her love for dance for four years with pupils in Tolmin and has worked on performances
for the shows Bazar 2008 and Hayeti (KUOD Bayani), also appearing as a solo dancer. |

Ivana Medvedec
Fell in love with oriental dance on a first shimmy, thus opening the door to far-away
countries and different cultures, but also giving the opportunity to get to know herself and meet many like-minded dancers.
As much as she likes dancing, she enjoys teaching and helping other women to find their inner self and become aware of their bodies.

Mateja Pevec Involved
in oriental dance since 1998 and opened her own oriental dance studio in 2002.
Has enhanced her knowledge of oriental dance with many world-renowned dancers and
choreographers who have appeared in Slovenia and abroad. In 2008 concluded a two-year
course to become an oriental dance teacher under Bahara – head of the Ciftetelli dance
school in Vienna. Her dance virtues could be seen in many Slovene TV shows (Tistega
lepega popoldneva, Dobro jutro, Pikasto, Parada plesa, Duhovni utrip, Odmevi and Enajsta šola).
Since 2006 has been collaborating in the Bazar show and Cult of the Orient as an organizer
and dancer. Dance is her way of expressing herself and awakening female sensuality. |

Vesna Selan Her dance career began as
a 4-year-old girl with rhythmic gymnastics and ballet at the Šturm music school in Ljubljana.
During her years at high school and further education she devoted herself to Latin American
and standard dance, where salsa had a special place. Her first teacher was Mojca
Rakipov – Nursel – followed by Mirjam Korez, Nataša Kočar and Vesna Jevšenak.
Has participated in many international dance workshops under renowned teachers such
as Hasan Khalil, Helene Eriksen and Astryd Farah de Michelle. Also appeared in the oriental
dance festival Bazar and organised a dance tour of Turkey. Currently enhancing her dance
expertise on an oriental dance course under the mentorship of Barbara Kerozouni – Bahara.
Dance clearly represents an important part of her life. |

Julia Tomšič A university
graduate in psychology and oriental dancer. In 2005 co-founded the KUOD Bayani
dance association where she teaches classical oriental dance and collaborates on
various dance projects. In April 2008 successfully completed a two-year course to
become an oriental dance teacher and in June 2008 commenced a new two-year oriental dance
project under Bahara, a renowned dancer and dance instructress from Vienna. Her dance
education is continuing with other foreign teachers too, primarily Helene Eriksen and
Astryd Farah de Michele. |

Sylvia Valentine, a dancer and dance teacher, began her dance career at primary school. Has been devoted to oriental
classical and folk dances (Saaidi, Baladi and Khalleegy) for nearly 10 years, gaining knowledge
and experience from established dancers such as Vesna Jevšenak, Bahara, Hassan Khalil, Helene
Eriksen and Astryd Farah. The Indian classical dance Bharata Natyam represents her great passion
– an art form she has been practising since the age of 15 under Vesna Jevšenak and Ujwal Bhole
(Nataraj dance troupe). She is also inspired by blending classical and modern dance movements
to create Bollywood. |

Naja Zapušek An academy
trained musician and singing instructress who has been involved in music, theatre
and dance for many years. Her career as a dancer and singer began with the professional
folk dance group France Marolt, and she was a also a member of the arts committee for many years.
Has performed with the group worldwide (Italy, Austria, Germany, Netherlands, France, Hungary,
Turkey, Israel, Canada, USA and Argentina) and also runs the Mengeš folk group and Rodica
children’s group. The group of singers known as Katice, of which she is still a member,
originated from the France Marolt folk group. Naja successfully graduated from ballet school
and has been strongly involved in modern dance, collaborating with many choreographers
including Matjaž Farič, Gregor Kamnikar, Ksenja Hribar and Dušan Teropšič.
Has attended workshops run by the Indian classical dance instructor Ujwal
Bhole for many years. Currently training intensively with the instructress Vesna Jevšenak
in the Nataraj troupe within the dance club Salam Ghazeea, where she began to learn oriental
dance. Now a member of Nataraj and gives frequent performances. Teaches singing at music schools in Ribnica and Kočevje as well as oriental dance in Kočevje.
