Banat al Ward, Arabic for »girls of flowers«, is a troupe of eleven established oriental dancers  from Slovenia and Croatia whose dancing paths crossed during a two-year education programme for professional oriental dancers organised by Salam Ghazeea Dance Society and led by Barbara Kazerouni – Bahara, an internationally recognised dancer and dance teacher. In their first joint show,  The Scent of Jasmine, Banat al Ward unite their dancing skills, experience and creativity to tell different stories of the Orient through dance. Among other things, the audience will be able to feel the atmosphere of an Arabic wedding and mystical Sufi dance, as well as enjoy modern versions of oriental dance, such as energetic modern Cairo style. Through tradition and beauty of the oriental dance the dancers reveal different natures of women and their connectedness with each other. The show celebrates not only the end of the education project but also the beginning of a lasting collaboration.

Banat al Ward welcome you to the authentic oriental images and sounds and invite you to indulge in the sweet dates and, of course, in the fragrant scent of jasmine.
